Perusahaan Umum Lembaga Kantor Berita Nasional Antara - Perum LKBN Antara or Antara News Agency is a national news agency of Indonesia and wholly-owned by the government of Indonesia. Antara was first established in 1937 as Naamloze Vennootschap (NV) Kantor Berita Antara in Jakarta. The Company was founded by founded by Adam Malik, Soemanang, AM Sipahoetar, and Pandoe Kartawigoen. The name of Perum LKBN Antara was launched in 2007. The Company is based in Jakarta and its headquarter located at Wisma ANTARA lt 19 - Jl Merdeka Selatan No 17 Jakarta Pusat. At present, Antara has 23 domestic networks and 6 overseas bureaus, located in Kuala Lumpur, Canberra, Beijing, Tokyo, London, and New York. In May 2012, Perum LKBN Antara was appraised by FSP BUMN as the Best Management in BUMN Industrial Award.
