Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia - Kemdikbud or the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic Indonesia is a ministry in the Indonesian government in charge of education and cultural affairs. Originally registered as Departemen Pengajaran (Department of Teaching) in 1945 with Ki Hajar Dewantara as the first minister. The name of the Ministry of Education and Culture was launched in October 2011 to replacing The Ministry of National Education (Indonesian : Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional - Kemdiknas). The Ministry is based in Jakarta and its head office is located at Jl Jend Sudirman Senayan Jakarta 10270. Since 2009, the Ministry of Education and Culture is headed by Mohammad Nuh as the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud), replacing Bambang Sudibyo. He is assisted by two deputy ministers, namely Musliar Kasim as a deputy minister in Education and Wiendu Nuryanti as a deputy minister in Culture.
